[Ash's alarm is going off at seven, which seems entirely too early to Max, drugs worn off enough to wake with the noise, worn off enough to know the meal he prepared last night is still probably good to go with a quick reheat. There really is no reason to get up so early, is there? Unless he has things to do.

Max can't do things. Why would he know if Ash had things to do?]

If you were cute, you'd be texting someone 'bout how much you love your boyfriend first thing when you wake up.

[ You can't use people you can't track down from his phone. ]

[Disappointed, he passes it back.]

I didn't see any writing. Whatever happened to sticking to your word?

[ Ash locks the phone and returns to his pancakes. ]

The kiss is still locked behind a contract, then.

Contract? The problem wasn't me walking over there?

I told you that I'd kiss back if you put it in writing that I was cute.

Is it the dementia age?

You're never kissing me again 'till I write it?

Not really. Cute isn't really something you want to be at my age, anyway. That's the kind of title you give to a kid.

Alright, go tell a thirty year old woman she ain't cute, see how it goes.

Now you're mixing me up with a 30-year-old woman. The memory loss was bad enough.

You're the one saying you're too old to care about bein' cute.

[ He leans forward, eyes twinkling. ]

You're so, so, so cute... Just adorable.

[ Max would hate that, Ash knows. ]

[papalobo]

[And yet he grins, leaning forward to match, chin in hand.]

Wanna kiss me?

[jadedlynx]

[ One hand reaches out to squeeze his cheeks. ]

When I look at such an adorable face, why wouldn't I want to kiss it?

Alright, get over here 'n do it, then.

[jadedlynx]

Don't want to come over here and sit on my lap, Cutie?

[papalobo]

Man, you are into me. So, you come here.

[jadedlynx]

[ With a finger, he taps Max's nose. ]

I'm happy to just look at such a cute face.

[papalobo]

Don't blame you. M'good looking.

[jadedlynx]

[ Leading back, he cuts another bite from his diminishing stack of pancakes. ]

Then just sit there and look nice while I finish up.

[ It's painfully familiar. Painfully because Ash isn't sure how much of it is Max's acting and even if it's real, how long it'll last. Sadly, he doesn't think the only thing the two needed was a good night of sleep. ]

So that's why you're so set on me not moving around too much on my own, you wanna keep me in front of you like a pretty little picture.

[Ash will get tired of "complimenting" him before his pride gives out.]

There's something satisfying about looking at something soft and calming. It's like a doll or a picture of a flower.
